For Abu Dhabi Art 2025, The Childe Gallery presents five international artists whose practices reflect on perception, memory, and transformation through material and conceptual exploration.
Cecilia Danell (b. 1985, Sweden) investigates the psychological landscape of place, translating observation and imagination into paintings that balance introspection with transformation. Paul Nugent (b. 1964, Ireland) engages with history and image, reworking photographic archives into layered meditations on memory and cultural narrative. Francesca Dalla Benetta (b. 1977, Mexico) draws from surrealism and myth to explore identity, belonging, and resilience through sculptural forms that merge fantasy and human emotion. Natasha Gray (b. 1969, Mexico) captures the rhythms of nature through color and texture, creating meditative works that blur painting, drawing, and material experimentation. Jose Cacho (b. 1958, Mexico) revisits the figure as a vessel of symbolism and harmony, bridging contemporary gesture with classical form.
Together, these artists offer a dialogue on how material, memory, and form intertwine to shape human experience.
