Francesca Dalla Benetta (b. 1977, Mexico) is a sculptor and visual artist based in Mexico. Trained at the Academy of Arts of Milan, she began her career in film sculpture, contributing to projects such as Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto, before dedicating herself to personal practice in 2012. Her work, shaped by surrealism and fantasy cinema, explores themes of transformation, identity, belonging, and care. Recent projects present children with imaginary monster companions, reflecting on childhood wonder, fears, and the resilience that persists into adulthood. Other sculptural series capture moments of introspection and reverie, evoking the fragile intersection between memory and dream. For Dalla Benetta, art is both exploration and catharsis—an invitation to connect artist and viewer through shared experience. She has exhibited widely in Mexico and abroad. Her work is part of collections including the Milenio Collection and the Copelouzos Family Art Museum (Greece), as well as private collections internationally.
