Cecilia Danell (b. 1985, Sweden) is an Ireland-based visual artist whose process-driven practice combines landscape research with psychological exploration of place. Working primarily in painting, her work explores themes of wilderness, adaptation, and psychogeography, often drawing on source material gathered during regular returns to her family farm in Sweden. Danell intentionally departs from the photograph in the studio, creating works that oscillate between observation and imaginative transformation.
She holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting from Atlantic Technical University, Galway, and further studied Jungian psychology at University College Gävle, Sweden (2012). Active as both artist and lecturer, she has delivered talks and guest lectures at ATU School of Design & Creative Arts, Burren College of Art, Limerick School of Art & Design, and the Royal Hibernian Academy.
